The hand is what controls the mark, and the mark is the memory of the hand. One can not have one without the other. The intuitive nature of my practice allows my hands to feel and sense where the next mark must go. The hand allows for the rhythm to come to life within the surface. Red next to blue. Green next to Orange. Dash, dash. Line, line. Dot, dot. Like a call and response, the marks will always lead to the next interaction and exchange. These decisions to mark, to move, to make all come through me, all impacted by the experiences and nature of my being. This filtration allows for the instillation of personal moments that can reflect back what was, what is, and what will be. One line can read as something different to every viewer, but the permanence of these marks are grounded in every decision and movement made while creating. This allows for the expansion of the emotional and mental transference of the viewer required to access these messages being presented. The mark and the hand are essential for this transference to take place.
